Team Awa's visit to the Christchurch Art Gallery and Canterbury Museum

Team Awa's Visit to the Art Gallery and Museum — by Eden Russell

Team Awa had a wonderful time at the Art Gallery and Museum. Thank you to the parents that helped out to make our outing possible.

At the Art Gallery we took a tour around some of the art works and discussed them and what they might tell us about the artists. Then we drew a design to create a printing block which we then made cards and a whole team waka design from.

After lunch we headed down to the Canterbury Museum. We had a scavenger hunt through the Christchurch Street and explored the museum experiencing things that will help our learning for our inquiry including seeing how neighbourhoods used to look, how people used to live in New Zealand, all things kiwiana, and finding places our families came from on the giant globe.
